Clay Poindexter,  President

Clay Poindexter President Structured Cabling Greensboro NCClay Poindexter is President of VERSA Technologies, Inc.  Clay has worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 27 years and is responsible for the company’s overall strategic business plan and growth.  Clay first started in the industry, in 1985, as a founding partner of Tri-Com Communications in Winston-Salem.  In the early years, while responsible for day to day business needs, Clay began as a systems technician gaining valuable experience in the installation and service requirements of the industry.  As the company grew, Clay evolved to handle the sales and marketing efforts, and was responsible for building and integrating the sales team processes for the company.  In 1997, Clay became President of Tri-Com eventually growing the company to one of the largest business communications companies in the nation.  Upon the acquisition of Tri-Com in 1999 by publicly traded Inter-Tel Technologies, Clay became the General Manager for the North Carolina operations with offices in Winston-Salem, NC and Charlotte, NC.

Sensing a void in the regional marketplace and missing the challenges of operating a privately owned company, Clay founded VERSA in 2004 with a vision and multidivisional business plan to become a single source Business Technology Solutions company, providing completely integrated business communication solutions for small to medium and enterprise organizations with the highest level of client support.

Clay is a Winston-Salem native, and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Marketing from Western Carolina University.  Clay was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1997 by the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, one of the “Forty Leaders Under 40” in 1998 by the Greensboro Jaycees, and recognized by Business Leader Magazine as one of the “Top 50 Entrepreneurs of 2010”.  Clay has served as a board member for the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, New Philadelphia Moravian Church Board of Trustees, and the Winston-Salem Sales and Marketing Executives.  Clay stays active in the community by supporting many local non-profit organizations in our area and volunteering time to Ronald Reagan High School Athletics.  In his down time, Clay enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, golf, camping and spending time with his wife and two children.


Ray Wilson, Controller

Ray Wilson Structured Cabling Company CharlotteRay Wilson is the Controller for VERSA Technologies, Inc.   Ray is responsible for the general accounting and employee benefits administration, providing business analysis and measurements reporting to management.  Ray is also responsible for the general accounting duties for VERSA Financial Services, a business equipment leasing company.  Ray joined VERSA in 2009 and has more than 35 years of business and financial accounting experience.  Prior to joining VERSA, Ray served as Controller for Commercial Carving Company, Inc.

Ray is a Winston-Salem native, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from North Carolina State University and studied Accounting at Wake Forest University.  Ray also served in the US Army Reserve from 1970 – 1976.  Ray continues to stay active and volunteers his time in the local community to assist his church and other local charities.  Ray is married with three adult children.


Shane Ivester,  Technical Services Operations Manager

Shane Ivester Network Security Systems Winston-SalemShane Ivester is the Technical Services Operations Manager for VERSA Technologies, Inc.  Shane is responsible for the company’s day to day management of the technical services operations department, which provides client project installations, service and support.  Shane joined VERSA in 2004 and has more than 16 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.  Shane came to VERSA from Inter-Tel Technologies, where he was the North Carolina Operations Manager for systems installation and service.  Shane began his telecommunications career with Tri-Com Communications in 1996 as an installation and service technician, quickly gaining experience and technical proficiency, and in 1999 was promoted to Technical Services Installation Manager.  Shane delivers to VERSA clients, a best in class client installation and service experience, and is committed to continually improving our client support.

Shane is a native of Winston-Salem and served in the United States Air Force from 1990 – 1994, where he achieved the level of Journeyman Crew Chief.  Shane has completed industry training and technical certifications as a Toshiba Certified Technical Expert (TCTE) and Convergence Technologies Professional (CTP).  Shane is an avid outdoorsman, and enjoys ATV’s, camping, and Competition League Softball.  Shane resides in Rural Hall, NC with his wife and son.


Keith Warfel, Sales Manager

Keith Warfel AV Installation RaleighKeith Warfel is the Sales Team Manager for VERSA Technologies, Inc.  Keith is responsible for managing the business development and account management sales teams for VERSA.  Keith and his team work closely with our clients to understand their business communication system needs so VERSA can provide a completely integrated solution.  Keith joined VERSA in 2007, and has more than 19 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.  Keith came to VERSA from Inter-Tel Technologies, where he was Operations Manager for North Carolina.  Keith began his telecommunications career with Tri-Com Communications in 1993 as an Account Executive, quickly gaining experience and proving his leadership skills, and was eventually promoted to Sales Manager, and later to the position of Operations Manager.  With his operations and sales experience, Keith can provide a unique perspective and understanding for VERSA clients as they evaluate their business communication system needs.

Keith is a native of Richmond, VA and is a 1992 graduate of Wake Forest University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.  Keith is active with both the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, and volunteers his time, as a coach to area youth leagues for Football, Baseball, Softball and Soccer.  Keith lives in Yadkinville with his wife and two children.
